Rachael Barry joins the North Coast Regional Equity in Recovery Council, a working group for the region
The government affairs and project support specialist for the city of St. Helens, Rachael Barry, has been appointed to the North Coast Regional Equity in Recovery Council by Gov. Kate Brown.
The council is made up of representatives who provide a regional voice to the governor's office and the Governor's Racial Justice Council.
The Racial Justice Council was formed to change how Oregonians listen to, engage with, respond to and support Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) in Oregon.
Barry said, "We are a working group, really, for our region — by region, I mean Columbia, Clatsop and Tillamook counties. We are really looking at the recommendations from the Governor's Racial Justice Council through the lens of our local community."
