Palm Coast Councilmember Victor Barbosa hospitalized with COVID-19
Palm Coast City Councilmember Victor Barbosa posted Sunday on Facebook that he was hospitalized and battling COVID-19 and pneumonia.
"3 days in the hospital fighting COVID and pneumonia," Barbosa wrote along with a picture of him in a hospital bed.
Barbosa had more than 300 responses to the post from people wishing him well and a speedy recovery.
Barbosa said in a Facebook message on Monday to The News-Journal that he was at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. But he did not respond when asked whether he was vaccinated.
One person posted on Barbosa's Facebook page saying he received a vaccine and he tested negative while the rest of his family got COVID-19 a few weeks back. The person then asked Barbosa if he had received a vaccination. Barbosa responded with a thumbs up but it's unclear whether that is in response to the vaccine question.
