GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Green Bay Packers are showing their appreciation of veterans in a new way this year.
The pandemic prevented the team from holding its usual Salute To Service flag football tournament, so instead, the team had a drive-thru appreciation event.
300 veterans, who registered for the event, received a duffle bag with a ham, a Salute to Service hat and other Packers goodies.
"It’s just a way that we can still put on an event, show our appreciation for veterans and do it in a safe way," said Ryan Fencl, the Packers Football Outreach Specialist.
