A naloxone nasal spray, used to reverse opioid overdoses, has been approved as an over-the-counter drug by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The drug, known by its brand name Narcan, will be available in stores and online by late summer 2023, its manufacturer Emergent BioSolutions said. Public Health officials hope the move will help reduce fatal overdoses.
