Hyannis is bracing for commotion to rival Memorial Day Weekend lines for Four Seas ice cream and Barnacle's fried clams.
"We are embarking on a major program that requires all of us to coordinate," Town Manager Mark Ells said, briefing the Barnstable Board of Health Tuesday. "Our Board of Health plays a major role in our moving forward with (sewering). There’s a lot of effort going on right now to begin to face the concerns we all know we’ve been facing for the past 20 years."
Where things stand with sewering
Massachusetts Environmental Protection Agency and Cape Cod Commission approvals complete, Barnstable's $1.5 billion Comprehensive Wastewater Management Plan is going from theory to action while you bake in your beach chair this summer. Sewering and building Vineyard Wind 1 are out of the start gate and their construction is deliberately intertwined.
