Our View: Why Harrisburg can't get the lead out on popular bills

We'll forgive you if a vote on procedural rules governing how the Legislature in Harrisburg operates isn't something that whips you into a frenzy.
After all, it isn't like it's a battle over how to protect our children from something that silently attacks their brain and vital organs. Something like, say, lead poisoning.
But hang on a moment, folks.
In 2017, the Legislature established a task force on the hazards of lead poisoning. The task force's report, released in April 2019, shined a light on the dangers of Pennsylvania's children being exposed to lead and concluded that our current lead testing program was wholly inadequate.
