Our recommendation for Dallas City Council District 10
Incumbent Adam McGough takes on challenger Sirrano Keith Baldeo.
We recommend incumbent Adam McGough over challenger Sirrano Keith Baldeo for another term representing District 10 on the Dallas City Council.
This far northeast Dallas district, which includes Lake Highlands, faces persistent crime, economic development and affordable housing challenges. Crime in the Forest-Audelia area and several projects or proposals related to low-income housing and homelessness have stirred concern about the overall direction of the district.
McGough, a former community prosecutor and chief of staff to former Mayor Mike Rawlings, is a thoughtful council member who is able to take on a wide variety of citywide and district challenges. He has demonstrated leadership on public safety and code issues, helping to revamp the city’s outdated housing standards and the deal to preserve the Dallas Police and Fire Pension System. He has been a strong advocate for funding for the Interstate 635 LBJ East Project and a redesign at Skillman and Interstate 635 to address safety, mobility and quality-of-life issues.
