Ottawa announces business support for Sudbury East, West Nipissing

The federal government is providing $1.6 million to help businesses through the Community Futures Development Corp. serving Sudbury East and West Nipissing.
Nickel Belt MP Marc Serré and Sudbury MP Paul Lefebvre made the announcement Thursday through Zoom on behalf of Mélanie Joly, the federal minister responsible for the government’s economic development organization for Northern Ontario, FedNor.

The funding will be provided through the Community Futures program, which is administered by FedNor in Northern Ontario, allowing the Sturgeon Falls-based non-profit Economic Partners Sudbury East-West Nipissing Inc. to offer business counselling and access to capital services, as well as support “community strategic planning initiatives,” a statement from the federal government said.
