Fans, celebrities and the music world are mourning the death of rap legend DMX, who died Friday at the age of 50.
The rapper, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was rushed to a hospital in White Plains, New York on April 2 after suffering a heart attack. His family confirmed his death in a statement on Friday.
Simmons made a splash in rap music in 1998 with his first studio album “It’s Dark and Hell is Hot,” which debuted No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. He has released seven albums and earned three Grammy nominations. DMX also built a career as an actor, appearing in more than a dozen movies and TV shows.
