As the COVID-19 vaccine rollout gains momentum, Alton’s OSF Saint Anthony’s Hospital is a part of the mix. Pfizer’s vaccine recently received emergency use authorization and Moderna is expecting approval as well, meaning even more of the vaccine in the pipeline.
But that doesn’t mean everyone that wants a shot will be able to get one right away, as the hospital’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. Dennis Sands tells The Big Z.

He says those front-line workers at greatest risk will be the first to receive the vaccination, which includes those taking care of patients directly or indirectly, doctors and nurses that may be exposed to COVID patients or infectious materials, and other frontline providers.
