Oregon Ducks senior Carmela Cardama Baez was all alone as she won the women’s 10,000 meters at the Pac-12 track and field championships Friday night in Los Angeles.
Cardama Baez crossed the line in 32 minutes, 38.73 seconds to finish 11 seconds ahead of runner-up Abby Nichols of Colorado and set a Pac-12 meet and Loker Stadium record in the event. She also set a personal best by nearly 17 seconds.
