2021 Shanghai motor show offered its fair share of oddities, and certainly the names of debut models kept Western audiences asking what was in the water at Shanghai.
In this instance GWM’s dedicated EV brand, Ora rolled out the
Lightning Cat – only to have most of its attention hogged by the endearingly Beetle-like Punk Cat.
Those names, in case you were wondering, aren’t just flimsy Google translations either. Ora’s whole brand appears to be pivoting to a cat theme, with the Good Cat, White Cat and Black Cat already on sale, and plenty of cat-themed iconography throughout the brand's marketing materials.
