It’s time to take back our American flag
So much was going on during the past election that many people did not see a subtle and clever plan to hijack the American flag. Yes, the “patriots” and “freedom fighters” who were fooled by the “big lie” somehow managed to make the flag their own by somehow tying it to Donald Trump. It became a symbol of which side you were on and only those who swallowed the big lie could and would fly it.
Symbols are important. Many of my neighbors (me included) took our flags down out of fear we’d be associated with the former employee and his aborted attempt to take over the government. Since democracy won out over the big lie, it’s time to take it back by flying it proudly and patriotically (like many have done) and end the politicization of the symbol of our country.
