CONTRIBUTED PHOTOS — Marshalltown Parks and Recreation Director Geoff Hubbard gives co-chair for coliseum fundraising commission Steve Storjohann a tour of the facility during its construction.
More than three years of planning, construction and fundraising has all led to Monday’s open house at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
“We’re excited to finally unveil it to the community and let people check it out,” Marshalltown Parks and Recreation Director Geoff Hubbard said. Hubbard has overseen the renovation project, beginning with a fundraiser in 2019 raising $1.35 million for construction.
The renovation of Marshalltown’s Veterans Memorial Coliseum is complete after more than a year of construction, and the general public is invited to an open house from noon to 6 p.m. on Monday to see the finished building.
