Port Hueneme woman found dead in house fire

A Port Hueneme woman was found dead after her residence caught fire on Thursday night, according to the Ventura County Fire Department.
The fire was first reported at 7 p.m. in the 2500 block of Neptune Place. The single-story townhome is located in Hueneme Bay, a retirement community in Port Hueneme.
Crews arrived on scene to find heavy smoke and fire coming from the home. Firefighters immediately began a search and rescue operation and found one woman who was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to Battalion Chief Anthony Romero of the Ventura County Fire Department.
