Fight over the future of Olympic Valley: 'We don't need an artificial amusement park'

Residents and environment groups are concerned about owner and developer Alterra Mountain Company’s plans to overhaul the Olympic Valley ski resort and turn the Palisades Tahoe into a year-round resort destination by building a 90,000-square-foot indoor recreation center as well as 1,493 condo and hotel rooms, shops and restaurants.
