A man died following a serious collision in Clayton.
Officers were called around 6.50am on Easter Sunday (April 4) to a report of a collision at the junction of Clayton Street and Ashton New Road.
Emergency services attended and enquiries established a blue Seat Ibiza and pedestrian had been in collision.
The pedestrian - a 46-year-old - man was taken to hospital but despite the best efforts of medical staff, he was pronounced dead a short while later.
The driver of the Seat Ibiza remained at the scene to assist police with enquiries.
No arrests have been made and enquiries are on-going.
