Ola, an Indian mobility company, has some big news to share: The ride-hailing service provider has started construction of its two-wheeler factory in Tamil Nadu. What's really intriguing is the fact that it will be the world’s largest two-wheeler factory spread across a 500-acre site. This is in continuation of the plans that were first announced in December last year, when Ola siged a ₹2,400 crore Memorandum of Understaning with the government of Tamil Nadu. The company then completed land acquisition in January 2021. It also partnered with Siemens for the upcoming electric vehicle manufacturing facility. Anyway, now that construction work has started, Ola says the factory will become operational within the next few months.
