Faced with a frustrating scheduling system and appointments that get filled nearly as quickly as they're posted, some large companies are bringing the vaccine directly to the workplace.
In partnership with the OKC-County Health Department and private clinics Passport Health and Total Wellness, several Oklahoma City-area employers have begun offering COVID-19 shots to their employees. It's seen as a way to streamline the process and get the workforce back to full productivity more quickly. On-site clinics are generally limited to companies with 100 or more employees.
"If you've been on (the state's) portal and tried to get a slot, it's a hurdle. We just wanted to make sure that we were able to put that in our team members' hands and make it convenient for them," said Cindy Bishop, vice president for team member services at Jasco Products Co., an Oklahoma City-based home electronics manufacturing and distribution company.
