OKC Ballet to premiere Oklahoma City bombing memorial piece featuring music of Vince Gill
Oklahoman
Over the past five decades, Vince Gill has built a famously collaborative musical career, which includes making guest appearances on more than 1,000 albums by artists, from Barbra Streisand and Eric Clapton to Dolly Parton and George Jones.
But fans in his hometown will get a sampling of one of his more unusual collaborations when Oklahoma City Ballet hosts its second annual "Future Voices: A Choreographic Showcase" Thursday through March 21 at its Susan E. Brackett Dance Center.
"It's pretty flattering. I don't know of two things coming together that are more beautiful than seeing someone do ballet — that's just about as graceful and as beautiful as anything our bodies could ever do — and then on top of that, to put it with hopefully some music that's equally as inspiring, how can there be anything but the cool?" Gill said in a phone interview.
