A 'strong' El Niño in 2023 increases likelihood of dry, warm weather across eastern Australia

A US federal department is predicting the probability of El Niño as now close to 80 per cent, and the weather pattern could be one of the strongest in decades, increasing the odds of drier and warmer weather across eastern Australia.
