Roy Eugene "Gene" Newman, 90 years young, formerly of Green Forest, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2020 in South Jordan, Utah with his family nearby.
Gene was born February 18, 1930 in Blue Eye, Missouri to Adrain and Verna
(McNair) Newman. He was raised in Oak Grove, Arkansas along with his older brother Rex Hedrick and his beloved sister, Ethel. He joined the US Army serving two years stationed in Fritzlar, Germany and Schweinfurt, Germany.
After returning home in 1949 he married Vella Lea Hayhurst. They had four children, Kelly Gene, Mary, Janet and Susan. He later married Faye Haley and they had one son, Derick Eugene.
