Obituary: Christy Henry, campaigner who battled to reverse the decline of Inishbiggle, an isolated island off Co Mayo coast

Activist Christy Henry, who died suddenly and tragically just a month before his 61st birthday, was a popular figure who campaigned tirelessly on behalf of his island community. He drowned after his car veered into a lake at about 8.30pm on October 6 at Inishbiggle, a small Atlantic island off the coast of Co Mayo between Achill and the mainland.
