After being closed for 15 months, the Oakland Museum of California plans to reopen for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic on June 18, with three days of free admission, officials announced Wednesday, May 19.
The museum closed in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 outbreak and had initially expected to welcome guests again in the fall. But those reopening plans were aborted when California rolled back to more restricted safety tiers in November after a surge in coronavirus cases.
