NEW YORK (Legal Newsline) - A New York performing arts center was brought to the New York County Supreme Court by a woman who was trampled by other patrons, according to a complaint filed on April 28. 
Plaintiff Renee Moskowitz visited the defendant Shubert Theatre at 225 W. 44th St. in New York City on August 6, 2019, to view an evening showing of
To Kill a Mockingbird. 
According to Moskowitz's complaint, a major stampede of patrons ensued at the theatre after motorcycle backfire was mistaken for an active shooting; Moskowitz says she was trampled in the chaos and severely injured. 
The defendant is charged with negligence. The plaintiff is represented by Scott Inwald of Fort Lee, N.J., in her request for at least $1 million in damages.
