NYC prisoner hangs self in Rikers cell with T-shirt - New York Daily News

Brandon Rodriguez was found unresponsive Tuesday about 12:40 a.m. in an “intake” cell used to transfer detainees at the island’s Otis Bantum Correctional Center. He had been in jail for just under a week after his arrest Aug. 4 on Staten Island on a range of charges, including choking and harassment stemming from an apparent domestic dispute, records show.
