New York City’s Ebony Hinkson has experienced possibly the hardest thing a loving mother could through, losing her son, Andrew, to medical negligence at just nine years old. A tragedy like this would be enough to make many people understandably withdraw in depression, but for Hinkson it led her to the decision to start her own minority founded and ran nonprofit Andrew’s Healing Hands to do all it can to help New York children and mothers in need. In exciting news, the latest element of this was recently announced. Andrew’s Healing Hands Foundation will be holding a special “A Mother’s Love” events on 3/28, 4/25, 5/16, and 5/30. The brunch is intended for moms to come together for support and talk about their motherhood journey. Each date is free for 20 moms, who will receive food and prizes, while collecting signatures that will help pass A.J.’s Law (named for Ebony’s son). The law is intended to help prevent medical personnel from making future tragic decisions, that lead to a loss of life. The enthusiasm surrounding the brunch dates are high and rising.
