Registered Nurse Patricia Cummings said the opportunity to administer the coronavirus vaccine to US Vice-President-elect Kamla Harris simply fell into her lap.
In an interview with Guyanese radio talk show host Mark Benschop last evening, Cummings described her newfound fame, since administering Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff with the vaccine on Tuesday at the United Medical Centre in Washington DC, as a “surreal” and “humbling experience.”
“It was a Christmas gift. I received a call on Christmas Day and I was asked if I would be okay with taking on that task. And I was like ‘Are you kidding me? Would I be okay?’ I would never pass up such an opportunity. Of course, I was very nervous but I never once second-guessed it,” Cummings stated.
