Number of far-right extremists in British jails soars to record levels

Far-right extremists now make up a fifth of all terrorists currently behind bars in British prisons, the latest figures reveal.
New data from the Home Office show that of the 209 terror offenders behind bars, 42 are classified as holding extreme right-wing views.
It is a rise of 18 per cent on the previous year and comes after a number of cases where schoolboys and teenagers have been prosecuted over far-right terror.
The increase comes against the backdrop of Met assistant commissioner Neil Basu insisting far-right extremism was Britain's fastest-growing terror threat.
Critics argue police are disproportionately targeting far-right terrorism as a 'pretence' to appease the 'hard-left'.
