The NSW government is launching a public inquiry into the financial mismanagement of Central Coast Council following revelations it had accumulated more than half a billion dollars in debt.
Announcing the inquiry on Monday afternoon, Minister for Local Government Shelley Hancock said such a probe would provide an âindependent, open, and transparentâ avenue to improve the embattled councilâs performance following the suspension of its elected body in October, 2020.
