FUNDRAISER: Lydia Pettit
A FUNDRAISING page for an "inspiration" volunteer and teacher has been set up following her death at the age of 42.
Lydia Pettit died on Wednesday and a fundraising website to raise money for her children and funeral costs, set up on Thursday night, had raised more than £1,700 of a £4,000 goal by Friday morning.
Her niece Lauren Eldon said: "She was a true inspiration. People were in awe of her, everybody loved her."
Miss Pettit was born in Worcester and lived in the city, as well as Droitwich and Pershore before her death.
She worked as a teacher at St Peter’s First School in Droitwich and Blackminster Middle School in Evesham, before becoming a full-time carer for her three children, including her son who has Down's Syndrome.
