John Hartley (Aug) asked if anyone remember Bewerley Park Camp School. As a twelve-year-old from Barnoldswick I was fortunate enough to have had the privilege of staying there, and I still have the programme of events that I produced at camp.
I was in Group 1, the head was a Mr Leadbetter aided by a friendly support staff which included a most helpful husband-and-wife caretakers. The latter magically repaired my torn blazer which I had caught on one of the iron fire bucket brackets found at the dormitory entrance.
The programme of events included bus and coach trips to Brimham Rocks, Fountains Abbey and Hall, Stump Cross Caverns, Howstean Gorge and Gouthwaite Reservoir.
