WISCONSIN RAPIDS – A 31-year-old Wisconsin Rapids woman charged with causing the death of a 68-year-old Chili woman by driving while playing gaming apps on her phone had a not guilty plea entered for her Wednesday.
Elizabeth A. Zivney faces a charge of second-degree reckless homicide for the death of Deborah J. Johnson on Sept. 18, 2019. Zivney's attorney, Robert Gardner, said Zivney was giving up her right to a hearing Wednesday to determine if there is enough evidence to proceed with the case. Gardner also said Zivney chose to remain silent went asked to enter a plea.
Wood County Circuit Judge Todd Wolf found enough reason to continue the case forward. He also entered a not guilty plea on Zivney's behalf.
