Noida/Ghaziabad: At a time when both Noida and Ghaziabad are preparing to launch a mega inoculation drive from July 1, there will be no vaccination camp at government centres across Gautam Budh Nagar on Tuesday because of Covishield shortage.
Officials said they have only 2,000 vaccine doses left in the district and the inoculation drive will resume once fresh stocks arrive from the state government. Only those who have booked slots to get Covaxin shots would be inoculated on Tuesday.
“As of now, we cannot carry out the vaccination drive on Tuesday. If we get a fresh batch of vaccines, we may continue it the next day. But we cannot confirm anything now. All those who have booked slots for Tuesday through Co-WIN will have to cancel those and rebook slots for a later date,” said Dr Deepak Ohri, CMO, GB Nagar. Currently, only two government centres are administering Covaxin doses in the entire district. Those who have booked slots for Tuesday and will not get the jabs, will be inoculated on July 5.
