Here's a fascinating old view of coastal Dorset from the mid 1980s.
With people in the foreground, a cliff and a derelict looking home in the image, it's not easy to recognise the location.
This picture was taken a mile east of Weymouth and is close to a wild shingle beach.
If you guessed that this picture was taken at the the old coastguards' cottages at Overcombe then well done - you do know the area well!
The cottages were eventually demolished to make way for the new housing development seen in the new picture below.
The wide shingle beach at Overcombe whilst popular never really feels crowded but is a hive of activity throughout the year with many kayakers and windsurfers frequenting the beach.
