NORWICH — Norwich City Planner Deanna Rhodes said during a weekly Friday meeting that the city needs to hire another building official to take over for one that is retiring.
Norwich Building Official Dan Coley said the city recently hired a temporary building official full time, but after a 6-month probationary period, the new building official notified the city that he was retiring and moving to Florida.
Rhodes said the Building Department is still looking for one or two people on a part-time and seasonal basis to keep up with demand.
“Our spring and summer season picks up, and we have pretty big projects on the horizon,” Rhodes said.
