Northwich and Winsford to benefit from police funding

Residents in Winsford and Northwich are some of the first to benefit from a new funding pot from Cheshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner.
Winsford Swanlow and Dene is the first of 122 police communities to be handed out a £1,000 grant from the new Community Police Fund.
The funding will be used to provide residents in Winsford and Northwich who suffer from mental health issues with a Christmas box containing food and a small gift.
The bid was submitted by the local police team who worked closely with the local community to ensure it addressed local issues.
The project, which is in partnership with Mid-Cheshire Mind, will target those who have had a tough year due to not being able to socialise or get out and about during the pandemic.
