A man has died and another has been rushed to hospital after a boat capsized on a remote river on Friday morning.
Emergency crews were rushed to The Sandon on the Sandon River, 60km south of Yamba in northern New South Wales, about 7am following reports a boat had flipped over and two men were thrown into the water.
A 48-year-old man was pulled from the water after washing ashore but died at the scene despite members of the public trying desperately to revive him through CPR.
