In March 2019, Danica Winslow, 36, of Grand Rapids, for days begged staff at the Itasca County jail to return her to the emergency room, but by the time she received proper treatment, it was too late, the lawsuit claims. Winslow ended up in jail after authorities ran a warrant check during her 911 call and learned she had an arrest warrant for missing a court date.
