And that means clerks are busy making the final preparations for Election Day.
In Mecosta County, voters will decide on a handful of ballot proposals, including some for local schools.
The county clerk says they typically expect a lower turnout for May elections.
Still, local clerks have spent the last several days making sure everything is in place and ready for voters.
“It sounds like local clerks have had pretty good turnout with absent voter ballots, definitely not as high as it was for the November general but higher than regular May elections. I think most of them are ready, have their election inspectors ready to go and they’re just waiting for Tuesday to roll around,” said Mecosta County Clerk Marcee Purcell.
