Northallerton’s Step-Up team and Keeva the dog
A GROUP from North Yorkshire are set to count their steps this month as each take on the 300,000 step challenge.
Step Up for Christian Aid will be taken on by a group of people across Northallerton in a bid to help some of the world's poorest communities protect themselves from both the climate crisis and the pandemic.
The team of 10 has set out to walk a total of at least three-million steps between the month of Christian Aid week from May 10 to 16.
Michael Webster, chair of the local Christian Aid Group, said: "In the past our main fund raiser in Christian Aid Week has been the house to house collection. Covid makes this much more difficult, so instead of walking delivering and collecting envelopes our team are ‘Stepping Up’ for Christian Aid.
