A powerful norâeaster dumped over a foot of snow in the Berkshires early Thursday, laying down a fresh blanket of fluffy powder just a week before the Christmas holiday.
Snowfall totals might have been even higher, but a shift in the stormâs track brought the heaviest snow totals to areas around Albany, N.Y., some of which got nearly 30 inches of snow.
The Eagle set up a time-lapse video from the second floor of Pittsfield City Hall to capture the nor'easter. The video, which looks west over the Dunham Mall, toward North Street, begins with snow falling about 10 p.m. Wednesday and continues overnight, ending about 8 a.m. Thursday. The Eagle is grateful to Mayor Linda Tyer for allowing the camera to be set up at City Hall.
