A man was arrested and charged in relation to the seizure.
Charged with illegal possession of firearm and illegal possession of ammunition is Nathan Whitter, 23, of Orange Hill district, Brown’s Town in the parish.
Reports from the St Ann’s Bay police are that about 3 pm, a search warrant was executed on Whitter’s residence, during which the weapon was found.
Whitter, who was at home at the time with a female companion, reportedly tried to escape, but was apprehended by the police.
He was questioned and the charges were subsequently laid against him.
