No CWD cases found in wild deer herd in west-central Minnesota
The help of area taxidermists in collecting samples for CWD surveillance near Alexandria helps the DNR meet its goal in deer permit area 213, while also adding a lot of mature bucks into the samples. Sampling still well short of goal levels in area 273.

GLENWOOD, Minn. — Staff at the Glenwood Department of Natural Resources were worried about meeting their goal in terms of sampling the wild deer herd for chronic wasting disease after the youth and early antlerless seasons in mid-October, but firearms hunters stepped up in permit area 213.
