PUTRAJAYA: Many Umno MPs have chosen to stay mum on where they stand on the decision by their party to retract support for Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
The Star contacted more than half of Umno’s 38 lawmakers and most refused comment when asked if they agreed with the party’s decision.
Others chose to speak off the record.
“I will share my thoughts with you but you cannot put it in writing,” said a lawmaker who did not want to be named.
However, Pontian MP Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan said that as an Umno member and party secretary-general, he was duty-bound to abide by the party’s decision.
