MUMBAI: With the newly appointed city Congress president Bhai Jagtap saying that he was not in favour of an alliance with the Shiv Sena for the BMC elections, Sena strategists have said that instead of a formal alliance, the party may have an ‘understanding’ with the Congress in key areas to defeat the BJP.
While no formal talks have taken place between the Sena and Congress on a possible alliance for the NCM elections, chief minister Uddhav Thackeray had last month suggested the ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) allies, the Sena, Congress and NCP will fight all elections, including the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) polls, together.
