The first day of the rollout of inoculation for minors saw 3,537 vaccinees in five vaccination sites, namely SM City with 971; Robinsons Jaro, 864; Festive Mall, Megaworld, 654; Ateneo de Iloilo, 570; and University of San Agustin, 478. "So far we have a good turnout. Overall, the vaccination for minors got a positive response from the public," Jeck Conlu, spokesperson for the Iloilo City COVID team said in an interview on Wednesday. He said the excitement could be seen on the faces of the children as they probably wanted to return to their normal activities. Since last year, they were prohibited to go out of their houses. With the vaccines they can go out and be with their friends and classmates and stroll in malls, he added. "There are some who got nervous but they were just allowed to rest for a while," he said. Meantime, while those who have not pre-registered are also being accommodated, yet Conlu said that it would be faster if they were pre-registered as their data would be readily available on the computer. He also recommended that they get enough sleep a day before their vaccine schedule. On Wednesday, they expect to vaccinate a minimum of 1,000 in each of the mega sites. Conlu said that the city has enough vaccines for minors and adults, and more doses will be arriving soon. In addition to minors, several adults were vaccinated at the sites while there is also an ongoing inoculation at the city's district health centers. (PNA) }
