No. 9: Ex-boyfriend charged in Shenandoah homicide

Schuylkill County District Attorney Michael A. O’Pake has decided to seek the death penalty for a man charged with stabbing his ex-girlfriend to death on the front porch of a Shenandoah home in August.
Nathaniel Joseph Kimmel, 22, of 12 N. Richard St., Girardville, is scheduled for trial in Schuylkill County Court in 2021, charged with killing April M. Mahmod, 37, of 106 S. Catherine St., Shenandoah.
State police Trooper Shawn Tray of the Frackville station charged Kimmel with one felony count each of criminal homicide, burglary and criminal trespass; two felony counts of aggravated assault; and one misdemeanor count each of possessing instruments of crime, simple assault, simple assault with a weapon and recklessly endangering another person.
