ITHACA — Up two goals heading into the fourth quarter Wednesday at Higgins Stadium, the visiting Union College men’s lacrosse team could not hold onto its lead.
As a result, No. 8 Union lost its unbeaten record. Union fell 11-10 Wednesday against Ithaca, which received the game-winning goal from John Sramac off an assist from Jack Erickson with less than 10 seconds to play.
The goal was the second of the Liberty League game for Sramac, who was one of four Ithaca players to score multiple goals. Blake Eischen scored three goals and Connor Thornton had 15 saves in the upset win for Ithaca (2-1 Liberty League, 4-2 overall) against a Union (2-1, 3-1) team that had outscored its first three opponents 48-17.
