MOUNT HOLLY - After a beautiful day of summer-like temperatures, New Jersey is heading for another rough stretch of ugly weather, due to a strong cold front approaching the state that is likely to produce severe thunderstorms and gusts up to 60 mph, according to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service.
The cold front is expected to pass through the state around Thursday afternoon, bringing periods of showers, isolated to widely scattered showers and severe thunderstorms by the evening hours, according to private meteorologist Steven DiMartino, who runs NY NJ PA Weather.
Thunderstorms are expected to develop from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday night and will be capable of bringing heavy downpours, frequent lightning, and small hail, the national weather service said.
